Being involved from the early stages of a new site was a great experience and I learned a lot in a short space of time, particularly how important the customer’s point of view is.After six months I was promoted to Business Analyst within the Non-Retail Development (NRD) team. The NRD team work on projects for all the online sites to enable them to continually improve and stay ahead of competitors in a fast moving industry. This position provided a great opportunity to work in all areas of the business, improve my technical knowledge, and establish myself within the company.
After two years in NRD, I was promoted to Operations Manager of Paddy Power’s core online product, the Sportsbook. I’d enjoyed my time in NRD but felt ready for a new challenge, and moving from a technical to a business role provided that. Since I started my new position the months have just flown by. The company is growing at a remarkable speed and is constantly seeking out new business opportunities, meaning that no matter which position you start in you could find yourself managing a new business in just a few years.
