When you find yourself in St. Peter’s Square, Rome, shouting the odds or wake up on Craggy Island in the remote West of Ireland dressed as a priest after little or no sleep you have to pinch yourself to make sure you’re not still dreaming. This is being a Paddy Power Marketeer, it’s a life a lot less ordinary and it’s the most fun career in the World.
Mind you, this is not a job for the faint-hearted. You will encounter strong personalities, struggle to keep up in a fast-moving business and listen to clients and customers who are not afraid to let you know when you’ve got it wrong. However. every so often something surreal will happen, like officiating the All Ireland Donkey Derby Final in a field in Ennis, that makes you eternally grateful you didn’t take that job in the Bank!
